Anna Karenina

Has anyone else read Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy?
I started it the other day at Laguna Beach. For the 1st 2 or 3 pages this is what was going through my my mind:
"BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! BLAH!"
I don't know if it was all the noise around me or what! But I was so excited to read this book! Dangit! I will try reading it again after I finish the Sookie Stackhouse books.

Fathers Day

For Fathers Day Scott told me I couldn't get him anything this year. I strained my brain trying to figure out something cheap to buy him and have came up with nothing thoughtful. SO- I'm going to make THESE:

Aren't they amazing? I love them already. The recipe is on Bakerella's Blog. It looks SUPER easy!

Scott got me a great Mothers Day present so it's not fair that he says that I can't buy anything for him! So i'm either going to get one of these to go along with him cupcake burgers.

OR..
..I know right.. a BOOK or TOMMY BOY? Sophistication or retardation? Which do I choose?

Scott has read one book in his life. He hates reading. But he said the other day that he would actually like to read this one. (Which made me gleefully jump up and down in my mind!) I'm worried it will bore him though.

Scott owns Tommy Boy. But it's on VHS & we don't have a VHS player and have no plans to get one. It's one of his favorite movies (Don't all guys love this move? Please tell me "YES!") & he quotes from it all the time.

Oh goodness..

(Shhhh.. don't tell him!)

Another Review

Now I am woking on these 3. All Sookie Stackhouse books. I just want to get them read. I can't wait to see how they turn out. There is 1 more book after these 3 but I will probably take a little break from these until the next one comes.

I finished "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner". Ok.. we all knew this.. but Stephanie Meyer is amazing. It wasn't as good as any of the Twilight books but it's still great. I wish it was longer.. it was less that 200 pages and the pages have like 2 paragraphs on them! DEF reccomended.

Ordred: "Shiver" by Maggie Stiefvater. Werewolf book. I'm can't remember what it's about but when I was ordering it. It sounded really good! : )
Now if only I could become a professional reader and be compensated.. THAT would be ahhmazing.

OH! And these books too..

I have added 2 more books. I bought 2 more today. I can't stop!!

YES! It's another Twilight book! It's not about Edward or Bella though. It's about the second life of a newborn vampire that is in the Eclipse book.. named.. you guessed it! Bree Tanner. I don't remember her in the Eclipse book. It's a pretty short book so it will be finished within the week.

YES! Pride and Prejudice. I can't wait. I love love love the movie. Who doesn't? I've heard from everyone who has read from the incredible Jane Austen and loves her. Can't wait.

*Just a follow up. I finished "Eat, Pray, Love" LOVED IT! One of the most inspiring books I've ever read. It's sitting on the shelf with the other favorites. There are some bad parts that may make a nice little mormon girl blush.. but it's GREAT!

AND.. I read "For WOmen Only". And let me say.. OH MY GOSH. It's amazing. Everything that I read in the book was dead on. I told Scott the highlights and he would say "Yep, that's right" "Yes, I feel like that all the time". I really hope that I take this book and apply it to my life instead of just reading it and storing it in the back of my mind. Definately reccomended!

A Summer of Books

Well, my cute friend posted a blog about all the books she's working on this Summer. So i'm going to copy her! It's such a good idea, thanks Nat! If you know me well at all you would know that I LOVE TO READ. It's my very most favorite thing to do. This Summer I actually don't have a lot of time on my hands since I've started working again. But i've decided to carry my books along with me everywhere I go. (Well, the one I'm working on!)

First & foremost I'm working on "Eat, Pray, Love". It's about a woman going through a divorce & depression & decides to go to Italy, India & Bali to find... Pleasure, Devotion and a way to balance them both. I'm through Italy & halfway through India. It is one of the best books I have ever read. I am going to be sad when I finish it! (Note: there is some cussing!) It's amazing. It has me thinking long and hard about my life.

My 2nd favorite is the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. The show "True Blood" is based on these books. (I've watched the 1st season of True Blood, the books aren't scandalous like the show. There are TEN books in the series.. yes ten. They are so cute though. I really have come to love the main character. Plus, vampires are all the craze at the moment! I have read six of them. I'm taking a break from reading them to read "Eat, Pray, Love".

Scott & I are working on some books together. I'm reading "For women only" & he is reading "For men only". If you haven't already guessed they are books for one sex about the opposite. Every couple needs some light every once in a while & this is where we are going to get ours from.
I have had the book "The Davinci Code" sitting on my shelf for well over a year. I think it's time to dust it off this Summer. I read "Angels & Demons" (Both by dan brown) and it was amazing! So I am going to read it! I have heard it was really good.

"Women, Food & God" is the next one. I have a HORRIBLE diet & this is just what I need at the moment. The author was on Oprah (yes I am a huge Oprah nerd) the other week talking about her book & it sounds amazing! It's not about dieting. It's about food and the emotions behind the food that you are eating. There is a reason you eat the food that you eat!
And last but not least my Tolstoy has been ordered from ebay & taking FOREVER to get here. I'm going to read "Anna Karenina" by Leo Tolstoy. Everyone that has read this has told me they love it. It's kind of an older book which makes it all the more exciting. It's about a women who leaves her family for a count. : ) Anyways.. i'm very excited about this one!
