How Do You Know?
I'm not stressing. I'm not worring. And I'm not thinking too hard about this.. but I am thinking too MUCH about it! How do you know, I mean 110% know for sure that you are ready for a second child? Especially all my friends out there with 2 or more kids?! Where Sum was a surprise baby there was obviously no plan that we had made up yet. We knew that we wanted kids, just not for a while. Raising Summer has been the most rewarding and best thing I've ever done in my life.. I would love to have more. Just not right now. Everyone keeps telling me "Summer needs a sister", "Summer needs a brother", "Summer needs a little sibling", blahh, blahh, blahhh.. YES she does! But I am so not ready. Not even remotely close. I was telling my friend the other day that I just don't feel like we've had enough "Summer time" yet. I'm not worried that I won't love the next as much as Summer like some of my friends have told me they were worried about. I'm not worried about the financial aspect. I'm not worried about how I'd work. I'm just kinda.. blah about the whole aspect of having another one. I don't want my kids to be 5 years apart. And I don't want Summer to be a only child. And I DO, I SO do want to expand my family. But I don't feel like I will be ready for another couple years! What to do.. Anyways, how did YOU know?

Oh Sydney I hear exactly what you are saying. I would pray about it, and if it feels right then go for it. But the one big piece of advice is don't wait too long and remember you will be pregnant for 9 whole months....which means 9 more months of time with summer and scott. I guess that is where we are different, I had so many spiritual experinces that I knew it was time and I am so glad I listened because who knew I was going to have a misscarriage. I think you will know, you will feel it and who knows it might take a little longer to get pregnant so don't wait too long, but 2 is such a fun thing they get to play and teach each other, and the great thing is Summer will always be there to entertain the baby. I love it and it is alot easier the second time around!! You will be a pro, but just pray about it and you will know!
ReplyDeleteLove ya,
How about a BBQ??

Don't listen to what everyone else is telling you to do. It's yours and Scott's decision to make and no one else's! Have a second child when you feel like it's right for your family. You will be the one taking care of the baby, so don't let anyone else talk you into it or make you feel guilty. They aren't going to be there all those sleepless nights.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, you will still have Summer time. It will just be a little different. When your ready you will know!
Sorry, I am one of those people who say "Summer needs a sister" lol. I only say it though cause she loves being with babies and other kids. You really will know when it's time though and no one can tell you other wise. Miss Flower famly is right though cause we waited for a while longer than we wanted too and then when we finally did get preggers we are still having to wait 40 weeks! I guess we forgot that after it happens we still have to wait for the baby to get here. All you need to do is pray and maybe go to the temple and you will find an answer :)
ReplyDeleteI thought I wanted my kids two years apart but as the time got closer I just felt like it wasn't the right time. I had friends have babies after me and have another one before me. It's funny how sometimes it's no I'm not ready then one day that changes! Was that way for me, now mine will be over 3 years apart which is perfect or us. But after this one I will probably wait 3 or more years, your totally fine in waiting. Summer is adorable, enjoy bing a mommy. :)
