"Back to School, Back to School.."

I am SO happy to be back at school. I feel like I have put off going back for too long. It's been a little over 2 years since I was at BYU-I. TOO long. I'm only taking 12 credits & as of now I wish I was taking more. But I'm sure as the semester takes off I will be just fine with what I have. I'm taking 2 online. And I actually wish I had time to take more up on campus. It's nice to be UP at school instead to stuck behind a computer. Oh well, next semester!

I am taking..

The Help

Nope, I haven't even finished it. In fact i'm not even a 1/4th the way through.

But- I had to take a break from the book to tell you how amazing it is! What a powerful book!

I haven't even finished it and it's already up there on my top bookshelf with all my favorite books. And the best part is.. it's going to be a movie. I love reading books before I watch them as a movie. Although, the books are always so much better. SO, if you're looking for something to read go buy "The Help". (Don't hold it from the library. At the Davis county library i was #400 something with a hold on this book. CRAZY I KNOW.)

A Little Slice of Life..

1st.. I had to show you what I got to look forward to on our anniversary camping trip (without the babe)!

It rained on us. So Scott protected us by putting up a tarp. And then we ran out of wood! So Scott just took his ax out and chopped us some!



2nd topic to show you is my cute little Summy.

She loves her stuffed animals. She was more than happy to jump right in with them. Sometimes if she's on the couch trying to reach her "woof woof" (doggy.. just in case you didn't get that) that's on the floor she will fall off the couch in hopes of reaching him. : )

Next, I finished "Mommywood". I liked it alright. It will never make my list of favorites. She had a lot of funny stories to tell that are all too "Hollywood" for me. But I liked it. If you like her, read it! If you don't care at all, don't!

Last but not least..

Look at all my little flower hair clips. Some are Sums some are mine. They are SO easy to make! Once you start you can't stop!

Back to Reality Sydney!

Seriously..

I am mixing up reality with my freakin books. So the other day Scott & I went to return a movie to Redbox at McDonalds. As we were pulling up I was thinking "Man, I was just here.. what the heck?"

Was I just there? No.

The character in the "Sookie Stackhouse" books had just taken her nephew there to play in the McDonalds play place.

...WHAT THE HECK?!

And THEN, the yesterday Scott & I were watching TV and I almost turned to him and asked:
"Did you hear about the new law that the government is going to make werewolves register as citizens?"

OH MY GOSH!
I think I am going crazy.

Anyways, I finished the last book in the "Sookie Stackhouse" novels. And it was definately my least favorite of them all. Bummer. It was very boring, I was SO glad to get it over with. : (

Next on the list? Good question. I have too many on my list to decide from. I'm thinking "Mommywood" by Tori Spelling. I just love her. Don't you?

Projects

FINALLY.. I finished the hutch I've been working on.. after going to Wal Mart & Home Depot both TWICE (in one day)! I was super determined to get it done. : ) I got the cute hutch from the lady I babysit for. She gave it to me for free! She's so sweet. But yeah.. I'm pretty much loving my new hutch.

Yes- I know, risque cover. But, it was a good book! It's about a serial killer. I've always been intrigued by what goes on in a serial killer's head.. so if YOU want to find out.. read the book. I really and truely hated the ending though. I was just expecting it to end a different way & I felt that the last couple chapters had me on the edge of my seat waiting for something more. But all in all it was good and I definately would reccomend it.

Yes, I am in the process of making this amazingly cute wreath. It's a 4th of July wreath but I can't wait till next year to put it up! : ) My wreath is outside drying at the moment.

Shiver

..Finished it! Hated the middle of it. Loved the end. I just felt like the love story never evolved. But when it did.. it was great! Definately a reccomended book. Now I can't wait to read book #2.. Linger. It comes out on the 20th. My bank account can't keep up with buying all these books soo.. library here I come! : )d

Now it's off to my last Sookie Stackhouse book (Well, last that's out) "Dead in the Family". Oh goodness, I can't wait. It's a good thing that there will be at least 3 more books in this series.. I don't know what I will do when it ends.

Juliet

This.. looks amazing. It is a modern day story of a "Juliet" mixed in with some history of the actual Juliet. You'll have to look it up. It doesn't come out until the end of August.. can't wait.

Also.. those of you that are "Hunger Games" fans.. next month is the release of the new book. Ohhhh I can't wait!

I'm 3/4 done with "Shiver" and so far.. not so impressed. I'm just ready to get it over with. It's not horrible.. but I have read better. The love story of the book so far has been horrible. But there's still room for improvement! : )

I Want to Go..

My little sis's friend is going to Prague on a mission. No fair! : )

I want to go to Europe. BAD. I heard that Prague is the best place in Europe to visit.

Recipe

We made Scott a Fathers Day cake, bought him a Quicksilver T-Shirt and bought him Tommy Boy/Black Sheep.

By the way, I'm not bragging or anything.. but this cake is the best chocolate cake ever. It's kind of a family recipe I would guess? Anyways, if you want a amazing chocolate cake recipe here you go:

2 eggs

1 2/3 C. Flour

1 1/2 tsp. sugar

2/3 C. Cocoa

1 1/2 tsp. soda

1 tsp. Salt

1 1/2 C. Buttermilk

1/2 C. Shortening

1 tsp. Vanilla

Bake @ 350*

Frosting:

1 cube butter

1/2 package of cream cheese

2/3 C. Cocoa

2 lbs. powder sugar

Anna Karenina

Has anyone else read Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy?
I started it the other day at Laguna Beach. For the 1st 2 or 3 pages this is what was going through my my mind:
"BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! BLAH!"
I don't know if it was all the noise around me or what! But I was so excited to read this book! Dangit! I will try reading it again after I finish the Sookie Stackhouse books.

Fathers Day

For Fathers Day Scott told me I couldn't get him anything this year. I strained my brain trying to figure out something cheap to buy him and have came up with nothing thoughtful. SO- I'm going to make THESE:

Scott got me a great Mothers Day present so it's not fair that he says that I can't buy anything for him! So i'm either going to get one of these to go along with him cupcake burgers.

..I know right.. a BOOK or TOMMY BOY? Sophistication or retardation? Which do I choose?

Scott has read one book in his life. He hates reading. But he said the other day that he would actually like to read this one. (Which made me gleefully jump up and down in my mind!) I'm worried it will bore him though.

Scott owns Tommy Boy. But it's on VHS & we don't have a VHS player and have no plans to get one. It's one of his favorite movies (Don't all guys love this move? Please tell me "YES!") & he quotes from it all the time.
